Charge!!! Domestic Air Travel with baby Tanner...

I've always been amused/shocked/irritated when flying domestically in China. As soon as we land, I hear seat buckles unfastening and people start to get up and get their luggage. It's like what's the rush people? We're all going to the same place. We all want to get off the plane, does rushing to the front make it that much better? But it never bothered me as much as this past time I flew down to Shenzhen with Tanner. One would think that people would be more accomodating to someone with a baby... right? Uh, wrong! First off, when we requested the bulk head (the area usually reserved for babies) we were told they were all full. So I thought, ok I guess a lot of babies are travelling today although I didn't see many around. Then when we get on the plane, I don't see a single baby, but just people chilling in the front seats. We asked if we could maybe sit in the bulk head so we could use the bassinet as it's easier than just holding 20 pound Tanner in my lap. Of course, nope, no one would move and everyone just had attitude. So fine, we go to our seats, which are allllll the way in the back of the plane. And the guy sitting in the aisle side of our seats just has this pained look of meanness on his face. My husband explains to him that there is an empty seat closer to the front of the plane if he wants to move up there and that way he doesn't have to sit with us and Tanner in case Tanner starts crying. Instead of saying, oh wow, thanks you're such a nice guy. The guy gets all attitude and says, "Well if it's such a good seat up there, you go sit in it!" Ok...buddy relax. But the point of all this complaining, besides just venting to get it off my chest, is that once we landed again, everyone runs up and it's like a stampede to get off the plane. The three of us just sat there and watched everyone push and shove each other off the plane and I just realized that it's more dangerous once you land than when you're in the air. That being said, with all the travelling we've done this past month, I'm actually really happy to finally be back at home.
