So as we've all heard that they found traces of melamine in eggs, but before everyone stops eating eggs and chicken, a friend of mine told me today that they did a study where you have to eat an unbelievable amount of eggs in a day to actually be affected.
While it's hard to not "freak out" during this time, we should all take a minute to step back and do a little of our own research. Since melamine is a component of plastics, often times food gets contaminated with trace amounts during processing and packaging. We've all be consuming this for a long time with no affects or knowledge. However, with the recent milk scandal, it seems like people are on heightened awareness to any little thing.
We should all be vigilant and careful, but at the same time fear-mongering is a scary thing. At this point some may wish to move to their own farms and grow all of their own food, but this is just not possible (well maybe...). In the end know that it takes large large amounts of chemicals to harm you and your children. Just be cautious and be smart.
