For the past 15 months, we've been walking around our house on pins and needles, not turning the tv on too loud, keeping our bedroom door open at night all so we could hear Tanner if he was crying. We never found a baby monitor that would work on our multi floor apartment because of the cement walls used here in China.

But now finally, Toys R Us and King Jouet in Carrefour are selling a baby monitor that works. For only 488 RMB, we have finally achieved mobile communication in our house. For the first time we were able to enjoy sleeping in a heated room as all the heat did not run out of the door into the rest of the house. We were able to watch a movie with regular volume and didn't jump at every noise that we thought was a cry. The stress level has gone down tremendously and now I only wonder, man why didn't we think of this before?

They also have video monitors but we didn't try that one. So far sound is all we need. We also used the monitor while on vacation in Hainan and it worked in the next room across the hall. It's a great monitor with great range. Ahhh... technology has finally arrived in Shanghai.
