The Benefits of Fish Oil on your Child's Respiratory System

Whenever I have heard of fish oil, I automatically link it to brain booster, DHA, Omega-3 all those supplements that people talk about when trying to be "smarter." Recently a good friend of mine told me about the benefits of fish oil beyond the brain.

If your children are anything like mine, their respiratory systems suffer greatly in this overly polluted cluster-mess that we live in. Fish oil can actually help to alleviate allergies and reduce the inflammation of the respiratory tract to hopefully get rid of that pesky persistent hacking cough your child has had since last September.

I also had no idea that pregnant women are encouraged to eat fish oil to help lessen the chance of their babies to have allergies and eczema. I wish I had known this earlier since my daughter suffers from both.

At this point, my son has had a cough since he started school in August and my daughter has had pneumonia twice. I am willing to try anything besides moving out to help them boost their respiratory systems. It is true that you are what you eat. Hopefully by changing our diets we can be a happier and healthier family.

At least now we can "eat" it with pills. I think there were giving cod liver oil to children at school before and I heard it didn't taste/smell very good! Cod liver oil is rich in vitamin D (good for the bones) and vitamin A (good for the eyes and skin) and omega-3.
