Hahahaha ... well, not sure about that one. Though it'd probably be more like a support group than a counseling session. Her book is as much about the trials and tribulations of singledom as it is about finding a mate. If anything maybe all of our anecdotes about singledom in Shanghai could help fuel her next book!

Haha - well I shall have to go along to support group then!
Looking forward to it

Well, before we start another discussion on "chick lit" (refer to previous book club blog discussions), I think it's important to note that Anita Heiss has also published nonfiction, historical fiction, poetry and social commentary.
Dr. Heiss' background is quite impressive! Check this out.
So...this should be interesting!

Ah yes, I forgot we were supposed to be terribly, terribly serious as this is a book club.

On the contrary, the fact that Anita Heiss is so well-rounded, should make for a really fun discussion. We can go from singledom to discussions about her profession and her views on Aborigines in Australia and back to singledom! Maybe we can even have her comment on the increasingly-popular genre called, chick lit!

I have a feeling that the conversation will turn more broad reaching than about any specific work. But you're right, because she has such a wide range of topics in her repetoire, it should be an interesting chat. Her website has synopses of all her works, a great resource for those interested.

I'm interested in the experience of working with students and writing children's books. Also very keen to know about Anita's screenwriting experience.

You still have time to join us if you leave NOW and head over to Figaro! Dr. Heiss will be joining us soon for our special Book Club meeting.

Is she available for one-to-one singledom councelling sessions?
