Summer Hiatus

With the temperatures rising and people fleeing Shanghai for a quick escape or simply to have better weather elsewhere, the Shanghai Book Club will be taking a little break as well.

It is a bit sad that those of us who will be staying for the next heatwave will not have a new book club selection and there is the grim prospect of not seeing each other this month (although I'm sure we'll bump into each other somehow), but this is great news for everyone else! We loved the last selection so much that we've decided to take it up again for the September book club. This means, you guys can still grab The Last Chinese Chef at Figaro for only RMB103, thanks to Blue Fountain books. You get two months to read this quick read plus a little extra time to read all the books that have been gathering dust on your bedside table.

We're also cooking up something new for the September session, so when we have the plans in place, we'll give you all a holler.

In the meantime, have a great summer. Stay hydrated and grab that book already!
