Forget Wheaties. Eggs Benedict is the true breakfast of champions. Packed with color? Check. Brimming with gooey yolk and creamy Hollandaise? Check. Vaguely healthy? (Hey, spinach and salmon are good for you!). Check. Feeling hungry? We bet you are. Read up on the city's best eggs Benedict and start salivating.

Italian| Osteria
Grab a seat on the intimate, shaded deck before tucking into their Eggs Benedict (¥58) with spinach or salmon. The poached eggs come atop what the menu calls “grilled panini bread,” but we prefer to think of the bottoms as sapid sponges whose nooks and crannies expertly sop up the runny yolk and rich Hollandaise sauce. Osteria’s golden-brown rustic potatoes put even the saltiest of shoestring fries to shame and the sautéed spinach adds a splash of color to the plate. But, like the other two dishes below, they’re only available during weekend brunches.

Fusion | Mesa | Manifesto
Resist pinching the cheeks of all the children scurrying around here and ready your cutlery. The eggs Benedict here feature two about-to-burst poached eggs (¥68) served atop toasted, extra-absorbent English muffins. It’s available with spinach or salmon, and your order of two halves can include one of each if you wish. The spinach is dark green and healthy and the pink salmon comes generously piled. Add eggs Benedict to the Mesa breakfast platter (¥92) for just ¥6.

Mediterranean | Cristal Restaurant and Bar
Splurge on the Florentina Benedict that comes as part of a three- (¥178) or four-course (¥198) brunch set menu. You’ll be served two eggs oozing with delicious yolk covered in Hollandaise sauce atop one large English muffin with either ham or spinach. Sides include smoky bacon, a homemade herb sausage patty with a dollop of fig jam and two crispy-on-the-outside, pillowy-soft-on-the-inside hash browns.
