Grape Wall of China?

Well, it may be one of the cheeziest wordplays I’ve heard in a while but the people at the Grape Wall of China blog are on the ball when they’re discussing the Middle Kingdom’s (oft peculiar) relationship with wine in all it’s forms. Written by wine industry professionals living and working in China the blog “aims to be a useful resource for anyone who is interested in one of the world’s biggest, most dynamic and fastest-growing markets.” Well put, and definitely a blog to watch for oneophiles and amateurs alike. Recent posts included the news that Hong Kong has abolished it's import tax on wine in an effort to make the city into a wine trading hub. Now if only Shanghai would do the same we'd all be a lot happier. They also keep track of wine news and happenings in major cities across China (esp Shanghai/Beijing/Guangzhou).

Definitely some interesting things happening in the wine world in China. Jancis Robinson, at the International Literary Festival, also had some interesting comments on the wine scene in Shanghai, as well as wine in general being that wine is for all people and changes with each person who tastes it.
