How did you find out about the program?
I studied in the Shanghai Youth Technical School for Deaf-Mutes. Our teacher heard that they were looking for six people from our school, so I signed up, and now I’m here! I always wanted to be a chocolatier–in fact, I want to be a chocolate master.
How long have you been working at Laris' Chocolate Room now?
Almost six years. It’s been brilliant working here–I’ve loved every minute of it.
What kind of training did Laris give you when you started?
When I started, I had to undergo a lot of training. The Laris kitchen staff provided different kinds of chocolate training and occupational health and safety training.
What’s your favorite of the things you make?
I love all of them. Especially the 99 percent truffle, our eggnog and our mango and black pepper flavoured chocolate.
Anything special coming for Easter?
Of course. We have a laughing bunny, a sitting bunny and different sized Easter eggs. They’re all going to be delicious.
