In restaurateur news, Alyssa the Thai food queen will be offering cooking classes and even an at-home cooking service in the near future and Eduardo Vargas is opening up a new wine venue on Changshu Lu, just opposite Arch. More details on this to come, though it should be open within the next few days. Also heading in the wine direction, Franck Pecol recently told me he's working on a Mediterranean-style lounge bar on the rooftop of Franck. He says it's got a nice little view of the former French Concession and will offer a selection of wines and champagne by the glass as well as aperitifs. It'll be open from 5-9pm and characteristically be called, Le Roof. He expects it'll be ready in September.
