The Fanciest French Cheese Plate

French | Mr and Mrs Bund
Keeping with the tradition of family-style cuisine, the waiter brings a metal tray with six cheese rounds (most of them soft cheeses from Normandy) for you to choose from. Half the fun is watching him slice your portions of Comte, Chabichou (goat cheese), double-cream Fromage de Monsieur, Bleu Cheese, Pont L’eveque and Camembert. The cheese plate (¥130) even comes with half-salted Normandy butter, tangy apple jelly, a generous bough of juicy table grapes and all the piping-hot, fresh-baked grilled bread and baguettes you could want. The Party On Platter

Fine Wine / Spirits | Enoteca
Enoteca’s cheese plate (¥158) is bountiful enough for two. In addition to stacked wedges of creamy raw-milk French brie and Camembert, Gouda and Swiss Emmental presented on fragrant shiso leaves, you’ll also get a spoonful of exquisite Roquefort cheese and thick shards of Parmesan. Curried pear chutney, walnuts, olives on rosemary skewers and unlimited bread come with. You can count on it to get the party going. The Top of the Heap in Affordable Cheese Plates

French | Des Lys
This underrated restaurant has a great value plate for cheeseheads on a budget. For only ¥88, you get a generous selection: wedges of a nice Roquefort, Camembert, Belgian goat cheese and Gouda. Expect no bread or honey here; this platter comes with onion crackers and a sliced apple salad. Simple, but delicious. If you’re hungry, go for the “half cheese” plate (¥48) with two kinds of cheeses, butter and ginger jam. Find It 178 Xinle Lu 新乐路178号, Tel: 5404-5077
