Sticky Date Pudding Revolution
To keep it fresh and interesting, many restaurants like to change up their menu from time to time. As my parents are in town, I decided to take them over to Bistrow by Wagas for Saturday brunch. After our meal (and their three cups of coffee ... each--I've heard a rumor that Canadians have the highest coffee consumption per capita in the world, I think I believe it) I was all set to introduce them to the sticky date pudding when Bistrow manager Franck informed me that it's no longer on the menu--they've switched to lighter summer items.
Now, I have to say that personally, I think this may be one of the best desserts in town (he tells me it may still be available at roomtwentyeight though) and I am so on board for starting a "bring back the sticky date pudding revolution"--this is my plea to my friends Jackie Yun and Jamie Hills to bring back the sticky date pudding or, at least, don't keep it off the menu for too long.
That being said, I did try the coconut sago with mango parfait and thought it was delicious, as was the peach and blueberry pie (not on the menu).
