Another Office OASIS

COMING SOON: OASIS Boutique Executive Offices, Baoqing Lu

At the recent CW Readers' Choice Awards, I caught up with our former Home & Office "Blueprint" columnist, Berwin Tanco of Vinyl Group. Vinyl, after having conquered the hip designs of Bling, Attica and the Simply spaces, is now tackling serviced offices. After the success of the OASIS Boutique Executive Offices near Xintiandi, the group is set to unveil OASIS 2 on Baoqing Lu, come August. "It's an old European-style house that is converted into an office," Berwin told me. "There is going to be a nice mix between old and new. Old being the house itself and new being the fixtures and furniture." Furthermore, environmentally friendly materials, including non-toxic paint imported from Holland will be used in this space that will also provide lots of greenery.

"One thing interesting to see design-wise are the doors into each room," Berwin continues. "We are reusing the old doors from the house and taking the wooden part in the middle out and changing it with green stained glass that looks like the mold of the original door. Its hard to explain but the effect should be quite nice." He goes on to remind me that the office-house is near the Hengshan Lu bars and restaurants, and Metro Lines 1 and 7. Nice.

Can't wait to take a tour of the new place...and move the CW team into it. Oh, one can dream!
