Design for All Seasons (and the Indecisive)

Deciding with BoConcept and the New CW Home & Office Supplement

I'm one of those people who need to redecorate with the arrival of each new season. Cozy for winter, airy for spring, muted for autumn and bright for summer...something like that. However, I'm also one of those people who "ooh" and "ahh" over every interior design magazine I read, making me incredibly indecisive when it comes to designing for myself.

Right now, I'm frantically preparing for the next edition of the CW Home & Office supplement, which, infused with new lifestyle concepts, will be unveiled in March. During my research on homewares and furnishings, I came across the BoConcept website. This Danish brand has made a mark in 47 countries by offering sleek, stylish and most importantly, customized pieces for your home and office. Lucky us, we've got four of their shops in Shanghai. I've never been able to walk past their Huaihai shop without venturing inside to take a peek.

I can go on forever about their catalogue, but what I really want to mention is the 3D software that they have on their site, called Furnish, which allows you to virtually create customized furniture and place it in your "home" so that you can see what it'll all look like before you place your order. Just enter the dimensions of your room, and go from there. Choose you table, sofa or bed, in the materials and colors that you want, then move and rotate the pieces around on your floorplan to create the best combo. Yes, it's all very addictive, but when else are you going to consider a jewel-toned leather Alpha sofa?

In the new H&O supplement you'll find more ideas on how to make your own space more stylish and comfortable. We'll even take a peek inside other people's homes and offices to check out their decor. Hopefully, this magazine, and this blog, too, will inspire you to make some changes in your living and working space, no matter what season.
