So Many Choices, My Head May Explode

Wow, can it really be? There are four rock shows, simultaneously, three of which feature international artists, on Saturday night, January 28th. Nuckin' futs.

But with so many choices and so little time, what am I supposed to do, seriously. I know, the exact opposite of what I did when someone asked me to pick a president . . . CHOOSE ONE.

Of course everyone is talking about the big Battles show at the Dream Factory. This show is a guaranteed winner, despite the RMB 120 ticket price, and, aside from the headliner, features a nice mix of Chinese artists in support (AV Okubo are my sh!t).

After last weekend's Fucked Up throw down, S.T.D. are right back at LOgO , offering an intimate yet wild set from German electro whiz Pitchtuner, who will be joined by Helen Feng, lead singer of Beijing's Ziyo. Tickets are RMB 30 and it'll surely go late.

On the local level, The (Crazy) Mushrooms and Banana Monkey take over Yuyintang with their Silk Stockings extravaganza. That's right, ladies who come (in)appropriately dressed in stockings and mini-skirts receive 50% off addmission, cover is RMB 40.

Finally, all the way from Poland comes mid 90s, post-Cobain grunge incarnate Roan to the Live Bar stage. Featuring exiled expat celebutant DJ Marcus Aurelius on bass, Roan are apparently superstars in their nativeland, not sure how they fell below my radar. Tickets are RMB 40, Kidney Stone supports.

Now, what to do? Well, I think Michael Keaton figured out the answer.
