It’s late in these dog days of summer, and while the weather should soon make a turn for the better, signaling the commencement of this fall’s rock program, four local bands are making an early push on the season, hitting the Yuyintang stage this Wednesday, September 8th.

Beginning at 9 pm, local math-rock duo X is Y will rip out some of their classic stop-start jams, followed by a set from Friend or Foe, a hard rock side project from half of Break for Borneo.

The evening then continues with hardcore cover-quartet The Instigation, who rip out renditions of Reagan Youth and Dead Boys tunes, followed by a heady set of surf rock and garage from The Beat Bandits, who recently released their “LOgO Surf” on a compilation from Wild Sanzami Beat Records.
