Wow, what do we have here. Sitting pretty at the corner of Huaihai Zhong Lu and Shaanxi Nan Lu, the brand-new IAPM mall just opened yesterday. Talk about prime real estate: it's a huge, 1.3 million square-foot luxury shopping center. Word is that rent here runs higher than anywhere else in town.
Do we actually need another Prada store? Hard to say. But here's what's exciting about this big (soft) opening:
Meanwhile, the connected office building, the Shanghai International Commerce Centre, and residences, the Shanghai ICC Residences, are taking a bit more time opening up. We'll keep you posted.

What does IMAX "in the area" mean? Not in the mall?
Sorry I'm out of the loop, but why is it called IAPM?
@waiman Sorry about the confusion. The IMAX cinema is indeed inside the mall but there's not another one in this part of town. About the name: this is by the same group that built apm mall in Hong Kong -- the name plays on AM and PM and is meant to emphasize how numerous tenants will be open into the wee hours.
Also, a lot of people have been asking about retail. IAPM says, "About 10% of the international retailers in the mall are on the mainland for the first time, and 15% of these are the first stores in Shanghai." As far as flagships go, Givenchy and Muji's are open already... More to come in the following months.
thanks! we live right around the corner, and so walked through last week. I'm very impressed with the mall so far and am excited to see it in its full glory once all shops open and it's connected to the Metro
Hi! It's end of November already and still no sign of CitySuper... Any new updates? Thaaaanks! Julie
