City Weekend: You both play a lot in town.

Mau Mau: I DJ most Tuesdays at LOgO at a new night called Kinetic. Ben Thriller: I put on a party called The Future on Fridays at Dada and Boing Boom Tschak at C’s once a month, where I play dubby techno. I wanted someone to join me to play some more indie dance, so I asked Mau Mau.

CW: You formed up like Voltron?

BT: We like to think of ourselves as more like Team Wolf. We have a two-headed teen wolf on the flyer.

CW: Mau Mau, you used to DJ with Heatwolves! under the name Baijiu Robot. What happened there?

Baijiu Robot had just run its course. We’ll still be playing together sometimes, but the main focus will not be on us as a double act.

CW: You two play a lot on Xingfu Lu. That’s a great little area of town now.

BT: He’s a Xingfu Lu whore. But I really like C’s (on Dingxi Lu), too. It’s easy to have fun there. MM: Baijiu Robot held its first five or six parties at C’s. It’s been a while since I played there, though, so I’m looking forward to getting back there.

Mau Mau and Thriller play at The Future, Dada, Fri., Dec. 18, and at C’s on the second Thurs. of the month
