I just got off the phone with a very tired Brian Offenther. The man hasn't slept in two days. In his somber words "Trash A Go-Go is going to go...go."

While B.O. wouldn't divulge the deeper reason for the split, he told us, "We've definitely invested a ton of heart and soul and money. It's just time to move on." The promotional powerhouse made up of DJ B.O., Misuzu and Toshi has shaken up the music scene in Shanghai since early 2010, bringing artists around from the globe, playing various genres from garage rock to rockabilly, hardcore, punk, '60s beat and surf.

The Mohanik show slated for next weekend and The Barbacans gig on Feb. 25 will be their last shows ever. The prolific promoters are looking to make the final hurrah even more special with a couple of extra surprises.

We're wondering who's going to fill the void. B.O. asks "Aren't people sick of me already? I'm sick of seeing myself." He informs us that there's plenty going on with the former TAGG members and around Shanghai. "Banana Monkey is hot hot sh*t right now. They’re doing tours of China, getting paid mad corporate dirty money, and Toshi's got a band--Instigation looks like they’ve got their new lineup together so they’ll be back. I have a couple of things going on so don't worry about me. I’m going on the road with Mongols next week."

For sure this is not the last we've heard from these guys. We'll look forward to their next moves on the circuit and wish them the best of the best. Stay posted for more music hot flashes.
