On Saturday, we heard that the Oasis concert at Capital Gymnasium on April 3 would likely be canceled. China Music Radar reported [the story] soon after and then Shanghaiist picked it up. We wanted to wait for an official announcement later today to report it, but the following statement on the Emma-Ticketmaster website looks official enough:
"OASIS Concert tickets no longer available.
Refund details will follow."
The word is on the street that Oasis was not granted permits to perform.
Stay tuned for more details, including a podcast of our interview with singer Liam Gallagher.
UPDATE: We have received confirmation that both Oasis' Shanghai and Beijing concerts have been canceled.
