Finding out that the Oasis concert was canceled seems to only be half the story, and it only took a few hours after the official announcement for word to start leaking out as to why the Chinese government wasn't showing as much love as the public was to Liam Gallagher and co. It's apparently due to Gallagher involvement with one of the "three Ts."

Although the band and management said, according to a Billboard.com report, that "the licensing and immigration process had been 'fully and successfully complied with well before the shows went on sale.'" They said the recent revocation was based on, according to the promoters, the Chinese Ministry of Culture recent discovery that Noel Gallagher appeared at a particular 1997 concert in New York City. Due to this recent revelation (probably meaning a Google search), the government decided Oasis is unsuitable to perform in the People's Republic of China during this 60th anniversary year.

This is in contrast to reports coming out of Reuters that the due to promoter's financial situation. Not quite as juicy a story but check the article out and decide for yourself. In the end though, no matter what the reason, Oasis still isn't coming.
