PK-14 Back in Town

Ok, ok, we know that PK-14 has been given a ton of press in the past year, but what better band to champion? Despite forming in 1997, and the lead singer being from Nanjing, PK-14 didn't start coming down to Shanghai on a regular basis until July 2007. Since then they have played half a dozen shows here, building up a decent fan base with above average mosh pits (for Shanghai). Their cd release party in July was going to be a bright spot in a rather bleak couple of summer months, but fate struck a cruel blow. Johnny, the drummer, fractured his foot less than a week into their month long national tour in support of their new album "City Weather Sailing." Being postponed until Sept. 13, the Shanghai show moved from Windows Underground to the superior Zhijiang Dream Factory. This is a show you shouldn't miss, we don't see a gig of this size happening in the near future with a crowd that is guaranteed to go as mental (I read a lot of British music magazines and they love using this word....not sure why, makes me think of a grown man shitting in a diaper).

Going mental :) Ever seen the satirical news show Brasseye? The get a celeb, possibly Sebastian Coe, memory not clear on that, to readout a ridiculous statement about a new (fake) anti-pedophilia song that is by underground techno act "Bob Hoskins going mental in a dustbin."

"Bob Hoskins going mental in a dustbin" ...
