Shanghai Weekender: What to do This Weekend (June 24)
Time to start planning your weekend--which unofficially starts today. Even with the summer slow down and "temporary" closings for renovations, there's still more than enough great stuff to pack your weekend:
Thursdays people will be crowding into Shanghai jazz name Alec Haavik's CD launch party at JZ Club, the 42 Below China Cocktail World Cup at Attica and the Mikey Gallagher: Shanghai Sessions party at Bar Rouge. Vino-files, don't miss the organic wine tasting at Vino Venue. The less desirables still in the country will probably be found dancing the night away at The Shelter's The Doll House or at the Brown Nylon Suit party back at C's.
Keep things classy Friday with wine tastings at FTI Wine and Napa Reserve. Also check out Jade on 36 back in action with its Tokyo Clash of Class or Bar Solotto at Villa ORO's weekend-long grand opening party. Not like you need to be reminded, but Taiwan's DJ J-SIX is also at Attica's free-flow party tonight. The rest of the city will be underground at The Shelter's Quality Control with DJ Eleven
Saturday, throw on a swimsuit and hit Riviera's pool party (cross your fingers for good weather this time) and while you're out in Pudong, hit Aquaspace's Golden Age Champagne Party. Once night rolls in, the party people are going to gather at Otto's Fashion Show for Sichuan Children's Relief while those on the guest list check out the new Studio 78 and the rest show some love to the S.T.DJs.
Recover Sunday recover with Breakfast Origins on Taikang Lu or the Sunday Brunch in Hamilton House. RMB300 for free-flow Bloody Mary's and food, can't beat that. Once sufficiently stuffed, recover for the week ahead.
