We all have high expectations for a wild last night of 2011, but the evening tends to disappoint. Thankfully, four of the city’s raging shindig planners (TICT, City Moments, Hi-Tec and Pan!c Room) have put together a huge New Year’s Eve bash that will be one for the ages.

“The attention to detail that has gone into this production, the music, the sound, the lighting, the various stage effects, dancers, stilt walkers and the décor will create a truly massive time for all involved,” says James Nealand, director of music at Pan!c Room. With a decade of experience DJ’ing and promoting parties of all shapes and sizes, Nealand knows how to get a party jumping.

TICT’s David Lin is hyped up about the crowd. “We’ve brought together the indie hipster kids and VIP Bund crowd for one epic night. Shanghai Fashion Hub is one of the coolest venues we have used. It has a banging dance floor and stage, an outdoor patio area and VIP loft, all inside this amazing building. And it’s heated!”

While all the organizers echo that the project is all in good fun, working with so many partners isn’t easy. “The most difficult part is that we’re all used to doing everything on our own, and this is really the first time we’re collaborating with each other. In the end, we all needed to be flexible and compromise,” says Lin.

Since these crews have already put on some of the biggest raves and warehouse parties our city has seen, we’re confident all their hard work will pay off. Resolutions for a healthy liver may be harder to come by.
