A Sneak Peek into Upcoming English Reality TV Show "Shanghai Rush"

With arrow on the bow, ICS's first reality TV show Shanghai Rush is ready to shoot the bull eye on May 3. Yes, that is this Sunday. Maybe you could still recall our post of its audition, but now the dust has settled. One-and-half month is long enough for real talents to outshine their peers. However, for all you reality TV fanatics, the real drama has just begun.

I was luck enough to squeeze into the media screening of Shanghai Rush this morning and grabbed one copy of "confidential" release in hand. Keep on reading for some inside scoops from this highly anticipated local-based talent show.

What to expect in episode one?

  • Mission One: To take Metro Line 2 from Jing'An Temple to the city's landmark Oriental Pearl Tower and find their next clue at History Museum. Easy task! Anyone who's been in Shanghai for over a month can do that with no problem.

  • Mission Two: To cruise their way from Oriental Pearl Tower to Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and fight against their robot in......archery!! The leg work is not hard but the archery is not something normal people would exercise. Mmm....Let's see what will happen.

  • Mission Three: To find a mysterious park between Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Aquarium. That's the part driving me crazy. What? A park between Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Aquarium? As a real Shanghaiese living here for over 26 years, it shocks me this place actually exists.

  • Mission Four: To make their way to Century Park and find their next clue in its lake. Compared to mission three, this is practically a walk in the park!!

What's fun to watch?

  • Hudd's "ma ma hu hu" Chinese and funny body language. He once tried to explain "robot" in Chinese to strangers on metro train and finally made himself understood.

  • The can't-stop-laughing couple Liz and Nic.

  • The male duo Justin and Matti have trouble pronouncing "Lujiazui." See how they can get around in Pudong with a misled pronunciation.

  • The opening scene of host Brian Yang is on the roof top of Hilton Hotel. The neon background of Shanghai at night is absolutely breathtaking!

City Weekend Conjecture

Luck always favors those who've got nothing to lose. That's the golden rule. Now go back to our previous blog here, and see which teams fit in this description. Personally, I put my bet on Alice and Richard, the spirited married couple who solve problems calmly and logically. However, after studying on their trailer, I found one clue that might spill the beans of the last winner. Watch it twice. I believe you'll find it too.

Tune in ICS every Sunday at 8pm from May 3 to meet those adventurous urban warriors. Click here to watch more trailers.
