The Shanghai Repertory Theater gets a bit avant-garde with "Drift", a contemporary English-language play. Written by Nick Rongjun Yu, the acclaimed playwright and director of the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, the play recounts the story of three generations in two different cities and focuses on an alternate reality that depicts a multi-ethnic identity crisis. In this backwards world, language, time and generations are no longer the inflexible fundamentals of life. The performance will have you thinking deeply about who you are and what really matters to you.
