One Last Dance





This Singaporean crime flick has a strong Hong Kong influence but is helmed by Brazilian director Max Makowski. Nominated for the Sundance Film Festival in 2006, the film features Francis Ng as T, a retiring hitman who’s involved in a kidnapping. Things go from bad to worse for T when he falls in love with a girl from a rival gang.

Taking Woodstock





Ang Lee gives his take on the landmark music festival. Based on a true story, this drama focuses on how Woodstock came into being. You’ll get to know Elliot, a warm-hearted farm boy and one of the festival’s founders, his rigid parents and lots of hippies.

A Serious Man





Helmed by the Oscarwinning Coen brothers, this black comedy is set in the ‘60s and focuses on Larry Gopnik, a Jewish professor who is faced with a serious midlife crisis that includes a stalled career, financial problems, marriage dissatisfaction and troubles with his neighbors. He seeks out rabbis to get advice, but can they get his life back on track?
