After a crowd-pleasing debut in 2009, Shanghai Repertory Theater is raising the bar even higher with King Lear, Shakespeare’s masterpiece about an aging king and his three daughters. Seasoned actor Philip Knight makes his Shanghai directing debut in this challenging tragedy that features an international line-up of actors. You’ll see many familiar faces if you’re a regular at the English-language plays in town.

The production company is offering City Weekend readers two free tickets to the spring season opener, so check out the “Win Stuff” section online to win. RMB180 pre-sale, RMB200 at the door.
