The Only Cinema in Shanghai with a Sony-4K 3-D Screen

I know you’re really pushing your luck to get a ticket to Avatar. The question everyone is asking is: why there is only one IMAX screen in Shanghai? Luckily, a solid second option has emerged. According to mtime, China’s imdb equivalent, a Sony-4K digital 3-D project is scheduled to launch in Shanghai’s newly opened cinema Jinyi International Cinema next month.

This cinema will be the only one to own a Sony-4K digital 3-D project in Shanghai, which features an amazing 4096 x 2160 pixel resolution and a high contrast ratio. To give you a better understanding, the normal project is 2K with a 2048 x1080 resolution. If you get a ticket to the cinema’s VIP showing room, you’ll have a chance to watch a movie lying down by adjusting the height of the seat.

Why not watching Avatar there? The only catch is the cinema is situated deep in Putuo district. Take Metro Line 3 to Jinshajiang Station or Metro Line 2 to Xinjing Zhen Station, a quick cab ride will get you there.
