Guha was named one of the world’s top 100 public intellectuals; in the poll that followed, he was placed 44th. His research interests have included: environmental, social, political and cricket history. Between 1985 and 2000, he taught at various universities in India, Europe and North America. Guha is currently a newspaper columnist.
