The CW editorial team recently got an email from friend and long-term freelancer Elyse Singleton. As the designer of funky, independent fashion label else seven, she’s initiating a fund raising project for a friend and fellow expatriate who has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Her friend is in a position that any of the expats could really find themselves in overseas--she was working freelance when her medical insurance expired last month. To help her friend pay off the huge bills from the local hospital and secure money for a medical escort back to Canada, surgery and post-op care, else seven will be donating RMB100 from every bag sold to cover her friend’s medical expenses.
