You can only shop for so long before your feet start to ache and it’s time to find the closest café to take a break from all the important retail therapy you’ve been undertaking. Luckily, LOUSHI on leafy Nanchang Lu has you covered. LOUSHI is a combination furniture store, cafe, book bar and interior design studio fit into a cozy shoebox-like space. Step inside and find a variety of antique furniture, from carefully crafted chairs (RMB3,200) to traditional Chinese wooden lunch boxes (RMB680), which will really perk up your daily sandwich. At the end of the shop, a bar serves coffee and snacks while shelves full of books are available for browsing. Open ’til 11pm, LOUSHI also stocks and serves alcohol, so you can start the night right.
