Starting with the store space itself, Lova’s simple design aesthetic is readily apparent—the classic wedding creations and elegant evening gowns all dazzle and show just the right amount of bling. Detachable, bejeweled sashes allow the dresses to be timeless one minute and totally fierce the next. Swedish designers and shop owners Lovisa Tedestedts and Anna Ahlqvist donate a small portion of each dress’s proceeds (RMB7,900-15,000) to a charity of the bride’s choice and have even designed a ruffled scarf collection to benefit CNN’s Freedom Project, which works to end slavery. The scarves (RMB345 for the large; RMB235 for the small) can do double duty as a light shawl or beach sarong and come in all sorts of bright, happy hues: we’re picturing nude to the office, apple green to the beach and China red for a night on the town.
