Uh, pick which cover concept we should use next issue. And hurry.
Help us design or choose the next cover of CW. Our next issue is about Beijing/Shanghai online, more or less. The editorial idea is to highlight those dining, art, nightlife, entertainment and city-centric sites you might not already know about - to start the process of highlighting those sites that help you enjoy and give back to the city. And yes, we shamelessly plug our own website - we mean your website. So help us plan the cover of this issue. I've uploaded a few covers already being thrown around by the designers.
As you may already know, we slap a lot of cover teasers around the central image, so the color and background has gotta be pretty simple. We like clean covers at CW - something to grab your attention but also quiet enough to let all teasers attract the eye. What’s a good cover image for a story about entertainment/lifestyle websites in Shanghai? What says website and city?
The heading is something like “Click on!” Personally, I find most of these covers too plain. Do you like any and if you could design the cover what would you suggest? Take a look. I ordered them all 1-4. There's more. I'll upload them as they come in.

1 is good. Or how about a pointer--arrow or the hand (pointing finger)--pointing on the words "click on" underlined in blue (the way a link would appear on a site).

1 and 2 look the best but it's the same concept image and heading for all 4: mouse with "Click on!"
You are rather limited with the clean layout, but if there's a way to include a map or city reference, then you'd be strengthening the website and city link. Maybe play with the scale - the mouse being the way to a larger "map" or directory of information.
Or have the teasers be part of the whole concept. City info all at your fingertips in the form of website pages.

I like nr. 4... the white background on the firsts of them, dont call my atention at all and I´d think its a past/old issue...

Man these all look like PC WORLD ! You need a scandal on the page.

Or two formally dressed people with LCD monitors for head (albeit a bit PC WORLDish)
Two finger tips with BJ and SH written in Ball pen
Or a Smashed up cell phone split into pieces.

(maybe a curvy gal and lots of pointers :-P )

Oh, I'll if someone suggests a better cover photo concept, that we end up using. I'll see that CW pay them 150 RMB for their contribution and bestow upon them laurels of fame.
