After reading today’s headline, the first thing that popped into my mind was global warming. But wait, the morning post actually gives examples of similar occurrences in 1987, 1993 and 1998. On February 11th, 1987, the highest daily temperature was actually 26.8 degrees Celsius. Random high temperature days might not be that uncommon at this time of the year, but if the average temperature stays above 10 degrees Celsius for 5 consecutive days then we are looking at the earliest spring in 136 years.

I believe everyone has heard that Firecrackers almost burn down a whole building near the new CCTV building, but it seems to be confusing as to what is the actual building that was burned in the fire depending if you read Chinese, English or Chinese translated English news. To my understanding, the New CCTV building is already built. The area nearby is called CCTV new complex. The building burned on the north of the new complex is the Mandarin Oriental Hotel still under construction.

The metro station in Xujiahui is the first station to have this technology installed. So take the No. 1 metro line, get off at Hengshan road, then go to Xujiahui and see if you can feel the difference.
