Today, the Shanghai weather center sounded off the Orange Heat Alert (the highest level I believe is black) with the average temperature rising above 36 degrees Celsius. Temperature at Xujiahui and Pudong were the highest at 37.4. If you had to walk out of the office in the afternoon, you might even think that’s a lie. Cause I am among the unlucky ones today, and it felt hotter than 37.4 degrees.
The temperature will be cooling off a bit until next Tuesday, then we will enter the famous Shanghai summer – hot plus wet then you get sticky. What’s worse, the weather will be abnormally hot this summer which means surpassing the average of the past. I think it’s time for a new breed of humans – ones with air conditioning system built-in.

- The president of China – Hu Jintao – stopped his visit in Italy and flew back to China to make sure the situation in Xinjiang doesn’t escalate. You probably would tell me that’s old news. Yeah I know. The post gave another few pages of coverage under this old title covering the aftermath of the riot in Xinjiang. A lot of moving stories about different ethnicity helping each other in the times of need to prompt unity. That's is what stopped my headlines yesterday. Front Page filled with stuff about the riot. I got a bit nauseous and just couldn't think.
