Red lanterns and exotic flowers have started to appear on the streets of Beijing – the star in the upcoming celebration of the 60th birthday of PRC China. This celebration is close to the most watched event in China each year, coming second only after the Chinese New Year. But you have to watch out for the 5 and 0. Meaning an anniversary as multiple of 5 or 10 would be extra phenomenal.

Aside from the flowers, security has also tightened ahead of the celebration. Airports in China’s major cities have raised the level of security to minor the level during 2008 Beijing Olympics. Beijing has prohibited any delivery of parcel containing liquid and powdery substances. I don’t think anybody wants to see anything other than the fireworks exploring in the sky this October.
