I hope you didn’t experience the same fate as the guy on the front picture. Wet, cold, hurt and embarrassed is not a combination of feelings you want to have, especially not in yesterday’s weather, in the middle of a street.
Well, luckily, I have to read the morning post to know the rain yesterday was actually that scary, because I was sitting comfortable in the office looking at the dark sky outside. But that was the heaviest rainfall of the year, with areas in Minhuang receiving 146.4mm of water in just three to four hours. Situations on the number 3 and 4 lines were shut down and 200 flights delayed.
If you didn’t see it, we did have a rainbow after the shower on the perfect blue skies yesterday afternoon. Sitting in the office, I didn’t get to see it, but I did saw the golden sunset. The prettiest in my memory.

Shanghai police force successfully rescued a female hostage held by a desperate robber with knife. This happened under the Yan’an highway near South Chengdu Road. The robber was distracted by a trained negotiator while a disguised police officer snuck behind him and grabbed the knife. Sounds like a movie and hundreds of people were watching. I can imagine the stress. No wonder the robber only lasted for an hour.
