Sculpture Sightseeing Pays Off
Fantown

Fantown is a cavernous refuge of dark, sleek, shiny class. This sprawling dance club features an unencumbered dance area upon a gleaming, obsidian floor surrounded by lots of swanky seating and metallic tables. The standard lasers and visual disorientation combine with the afore mentioned creating a “Battle Star Galactica” feel with the usual hip-hop favorites poured all over the top. Past the dance floor on the other side of the club are a slew of couches for a soft respite from gett'n down. Suddenly the motif seems to shift to a conceptual 1920's design. Drink prices are unsurprising for the venue—¥55 for a liberal amount of Jack Daniel's on the rocks. The crowning touch of the place is the clever location within a field of provocative sculptures. Just outside the door loom towering pieces readily available to ponder over with a cigarette after a few drinks.
