Cirque Du Soleil Comes to Shanghai
Founded in Baie-Saint-Paul near Quebec City, Canada, Cirque Du Soleil has become one of the largest entertainment companies in the world. During its visit from June 28-Aug. 26, Quidam (pronounced "key-dam"), the ninth production of CDS, will be performed under the company's trademark blue circus tent, set near the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum. The word "Quidam" is the Latin word for an anonymous passerby; a solitary figure lingering on a street corner, a person rushing past, living lost amidst the crowd. Quidam transforms an anonymous world into a place of hope and connection. It is a thrilling combination of acrobatic artistry, technical expertise, extravagant design and exceptional music. The performance will feature 54 acrobats, actors, clowns, singers and musicians from more than 14 countries.
Not So Random Afterall

An Unwelcomed Stay
A notice put up by the Jing'an police station at the Grand Pacific Hotel proves that it has been open without legal license. This hotel started its business about three years ago on Shaanxi Bei Lu, with twenty-nine floors, two underground levels and 400 rooms in total. The property management still refuses to give any information on the matter and stated that the person responsible is not available. In spite of this accusation, and according to the hotel representative, the premises are fully open for business.
