Shanghai International Film Festival, PAUL Opens in SH, Red Cross Needs Volunteers

Hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film & TV and the Shanghai Municipal Government, the 10th Shanghai International Film Festival opens from June 16-24. As the only international film festival in China, it not only attracts diverse films of different cultural backgrounds and trends but also gathers a bunch of celebrities from around the world. The award given by SIFF is named Jin Jue Award. PAUL Opens Its First Branch in Shanghai
From a small bakery in Lille in 1889, PAUL- the traditional bakery handed down over five generations is now stretching to China, with the opening of their first branch in Shanghai. By October 2007 there will be five new shops throughout the city, in Thumb Plaza, at Xintiandi with a takeaway corner, at the Portman Hotel and two restaurants with terraces on Dongping Lu .
Volunteers Needed by Red Cross
The Shanghai Red Cross is calling for volunteers to help out in local hospitals, most of which are for children and the elderly. All volunteers will receive free training, but they are expected to work at least once a month and keep serving for one year or more. Hotline 6323-7380
