It is always our policy at City Weekend to try and present news and issues with objective clarity and professionalism. However, we did not apply this standard in this matter and we sincerely apologize to the entire school, owner and associates of Jazz Du Funk. Run, run, run!

Adidas is not only going to supply the clothing and sportwear for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2007 Special Olympic Games but is also holding a series of year-long activities to encourage people to run. The goal is to collect money for the Special Olympics and others in need. The first Adidas event in Century Park attracted more than 1,000 people. The next event, Adidas Summer League, is a basketball tournament to be held during August and September that will raise money for the disabled. For more information check www.funrun.cn.

Ticket-Checking Gadgets for Sale

A new household ticket-checking gadget is now being sold by the Shanghai Public Transportation Card Company. The portable device will conveniently enable card holders to check the money balance on their cards. Compared with the machine used at the public transportation card service counters, this new gadget is smaller and portable. The new gadget, priced at ¥398, will be sold exclusively by the Shanghai Public Transportation Card Service Centre, at 609 Jiujiang Lu, near Zhejiang Lu. Inquiry hotline : 6360-1952.

Mickey Mouse is Comin' to Town
