1 Windows Scoreboard

The mother of them all, this bar features extremely cheap strong drinks (¥10) with loud tacky music and is thronging with students and expats alike. The crowd is young—everyone’s in their 20-30s–and the place can get rowdy at times. That said, Windows is the perfect place to boogie down to hip-hop and alternative tunes for starting up and getting drunk in preparation for the club prices to come.

2 Archies

For those in search of a bastion of cheap beer and friendly faces, look no further than Archie's, where cheap pitchers, great wings and extended Happy Hours are the name of the game. The staff here are friendly and quick to keep your mug brimming, so bring a thirst to match.

3 C’s Bar

Known for their resident DJ nights and extremely cheap drinks (¥10), C’s is one of the favorites amongst the budget crowd. Make sure to grab a pen, or anything with ink for that matter, and sign your name on one of the walls—if you can find a clean spot, that is. Get a large group and check out the semi-private rooms, which are perfect for groups of heavy drinkers with not-so-heavy wallets.

4 Mural

¥100 all-you-can-drink nights are the staple feature of this cave-like bar. Mural offers some of the best live music in town, ranging from salsa to reggae, to the occasional acoustic rock band. If that wasn’t enough, make sure to try their hooka (narguila) in different flavors to compliment your drinking frenzy with a little flavorful smoke..

5 Free Soul

If you’ve been to college, this bar will bring back those unforgettable moments of nights you can’t remember. Stop by for a cheap pint of beer and chat with some of the regular students who frequent this neighborhood spot. Complete your buzz with a friendly game of foosball or a bite from their budget-priced bar menu.
