...if you are newly weds
Jiajia & Jakob Montrasio Office-workers by day, newly-weds by night

Being young and saving for an apartment, we can't afford Shanghai's fancy restaurants everyday. But, there is one thing we can always agree on (since Jiajia is Chinese and Jakob, half- Italian): noodles. And there is no better place for noodles than the small Muslim noodle shops that you can find on almost any street in Shanghai. They offer thin, thick, warm and cold noodles, all handmade. Prices range from ¥4-12 and every dish is delicious. When we have a reason to celebrate we travel to the Banana Leaf (Thai) in Hong Kong Plaza. Friends from abroad always go nuts for hotpot so we usually take them to Wu Ji Mala Hotpot (Hotpot) near the Jing'an Metro station. Hotpot cooking is completely unknown in Europe and America and is a great way to introduce the wide range of food that China has to offer.
