Even as the manager of classic Three on the Bund, simple eats are what my family and I enjoy most. Very close to my house on the junction of Pingwu Lu and Xingfu Lu is an excellent street food vendor. Each Sunday morning at 9:30am with my son on the back of my bike and my daughter on the back of my wife's, we buy spicy danbing for us and the non-spicy kind for the kids. If I'm really craving Sunday morning sustenance, then I'll add on six xiaolongbao from the stall next door or cycle 100m or so down Xingfu Lu and buy a couple of mouth-scalding and delicious pork-filled baozi. Take a left at Huashan Park by Silver's excellent Sichuan restaurant and collect a large Starbucks (Café) coffee. We then ride the 3-4 minute journey to Hunan Park and sit under a shady old tree, listening to the birds and watching park life as we munch contentedly in silence.
