The Bund | Spring Sunrise Bar & Lounge
The stats say this bar is the place to embrace the Olympics with a relaxed approach. Football, diving, pingpong and more will be shown on this venue's 86 cm LCD screen for gatherings of the 80-100 expats and Chinese expected to come cheer on Ronaldinho and other favorites between games of pool. With a buy-one-get-one-free drink deal and ¥100 free-flow beer during the Games, this riverside bar will be a hub of friendly competition.

The Bund | The Bund Brewery
Great food and signature microbrews is what the Bund clubs' brew-loving Bund brother is all about during its planned marathon Olympic Games sessions. A mix of international students and foreign and Chinese patrons will descend on this laid-back watering hole to cheer on their picks and watch the Games broadcast on two projection screens (1.8m x 2m). The screening roster will focus on athletics, basketball, soccer, tennis and swimming. Look forward to the Bund Brewery's ¥99 all-you-can-drink ringer of a deal every night.

The Bund | The Glamour Bar
It's no powder-puff game as this classy, pink-themed Bund all-star turns itself into an Olympic hotspot, going all out by turning into a "garden party meets vintage sports venue," Manager Ellen Turner explains. The venue's evening line-up includes two big screen TVs showing live Olympic events (after 5:30pm) which might just prove distracting as you go for your own gold on Glamour's pingpong table and badminton net. If you're more of a spectator than an athlete, kick back on the indoor grass (okay, Astroturf) with the bar's new sporty summer drinks.

People's Square | Kathleen's 5
While not the first venue that comes to mind for a raucous Olympic viewing, with its unique locale atop the historic Shanghai Art Museum K5's glass-encased dining area is the perfect grandstand from which to watch the Opening Ceremony on the big screen in People's Square. Expect to be joined by an upscale crowd while you enjoy dinner and drink specials (10-15 percent off on all drinks) on top of K5's normal two-for-one happy hour from 5:30-8pm. "We probably have the biggest screen within the whole of Shanghai!" says General Manager Franck Crouvezier. This larger than life experience is definitely gold medal worthy.

Jing'an & Pudong | Malone's
This American café may be the favorite of a lot of Kobe and LeBron supporters, but we're sure you'll be able to find a little (or a lot of) Yao Ming love as the basketball tip-off begins. Regulars are already reserving spots to watch the live broadcast of the Opening Ceremony on the 10+ TVs with the same eagerness they put into wolfing down their enormous Chicken Parmigianas. Expect the energy to be taken up a notch as happy hour hits with a buy-one-get-one-free drink deal from 2-8pm on Thursdays and Fridays and 5-8pm on weekends.

Grab a bucket of beer (Sun.-Wed., ¥120 for four different beers), take in "the atmosphere and camaraderie," says Assistant Manager Jeya Ibrahim, "and get ready for a big crowd!" CW teams up with O'Malley's on Aug. 8 (or the Opening Ceremony of course), 16 and 22 to host festivities and Olympic-worthy drinking games (read: more Olympics food and drink specials). Huaihai Zhong Lu | Windows Scoreboard
Skip the dance battles being waged nightly at spots along the Bund and head to this reasonably priced budget bar favorite to watch some decidedly less painful games. From archery to wrestling, the competition is sure to heat the place up, so expect cheers and jeers for the favorites and not-so-favorites duking it out on the many flatscreen TVs. Stop by for some late-night viewing where a boisterous crowd will be sure to keep the party going till the early morning with the sort of never-give-in spirit that would make the ancient Athenians proud.

Xujiahui | Park Tavern
With TVs in every corner of this pub, you might get a better view of Liu Xiang's leaps here than if you were at the stadium. Head to the garden or roof-top terrace, where the nearly four-meter screen offers a clear view in the late-night breeze. If you would rather stay indoors, stake out a table in the basement or on the first or second floor, where 119-132 cm LCD TVs await. To get the party going, jugs of Carlsberg and sangria will be going for ¥80 and ¥200, respectively. With four levels dedicated to beer and the Games, let the Olympic madness ensue.
