Life-lover, universe-believer, creative director and part-time actress Heidi Woehrle shows us how the good karma comes back around.

06:06 Buzz! A text on my cell. Whoa … I was really far away just now. I’ve been trying to travel in my dreams where we are really free, but now can’t seem to remember where I came from … who? what?

06:07 Look at my phone and see it’s a message from Goodspeed, the director of Chinese sitcom "Cosmic Collisions." The film crew wants to rehearse an episode of the series tonight and film for the following two days. 6am!! That’s a record even for Goodspeed.

06:08 I text back. Count me in! I’m a bit surprised yet excited they’ve asked me to be in the show as I’ve never really acted before. It seems anything really is possible in Shanghai.

06:09 I read a chapter from Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth. This book is changing my life. Wow.

06:50 I grab my journal and write my intention for the day: to live fully in every moment of the present.

7:15 I jump out of bed and shake my body wildly to wake up all the cells and then stand still for a moment to feel my inner body and the energy surging through it.

7:17 Do several sun salutations and hip stretches. Ah, now I truly feel light and awake.

7:50 I light incense and review lesson seven from the book, Tantric Path to Higher Consciousness. Sounds pretty out there, but it’s really a simple combination of breathing and meditation exercises. Breath is pure energy, the life force.

8:35 Turn on a funky Freemasons house mix and jump in the shower. It’s cold as always but it really wakes me up!

8:55 Sing and dance around the house and feed the fish.

8:59 My favorite part of the morning: pick out which earrings to wear with my near daily black outfit. I LOVE simple.

10:25 Hop on my bike, which has totally revealed a whole other world in Shanghai.

10:58 Arrive at the REV office; we’re a life coaching company. There are many project ideas in my head, so my first step is to make a firm choice about where I will focus my energy.

11:30 The REV team heads to The Foundry to check out the space for Plug-Inspiration, the upcoming launch party for our REV Member’s Club, with the motto, “Your home for inspiration.” The earthy space is so inviting and the whole scene just feels right.

12:15 I meet executive coach and author Raf Verheyen, who will present at the event. We discuss our ideas on finding one’s purpose in life, the subject of his current book project. I feel so energized and inspired!

12:45 We head to Coolzey’s, my favorite lunch spot, and my colleague and I map out a detailed plan for the event–this is where the real work gets done.

14:00 In the office, I stare at my design task and go blank, feeling totally uninspired. Trying to do something is useless in this state. Creativity cannot be forced, it has to just flow.

14:30 What can I do in this moment to be productive? Give up on staring and get up to stretch and organize a shelf of books to clear my mind. A book on color energy catches my eye and gives me a great idea for the give-away for the event. Sweet, back in the flow!

14:40 I make a series of color energy bookmarks to go with the Plug-Inspiration theme. Violet for health energy, orange for relationship energy, etc …

16:05 A frothy iced cappuccino is calling me. I grab my laptop and head to the French bakery downstairs.

16:25 Work on a brochure for a friend’s coaching program.

18:25 I grab a quick bite before rehearsal. I start to stress about time but remind myself to relax and focus on my salad.

19:03 We arrive right on time and Goodspeed hands me the script and gives me the rundown of the new episode. It involves me spending all our rent money at “Cheapu” Lu and unknowingly applying for a “special hostess” position in police uniform. They even scrounged up a real one! I LOVE IT!

21:20 The crew goes for a quick bite around the corner. They really make me feel like part of the family … aw!

23:04 Cab back to the homefront, buzzing from the evening.

23:15 Collapse into bed grateful for this full day and excited for future possibilities.

What we think: We can’t remember the last time a morning lasted an entire column and a half. Frankly, we’re in awe–reading, writing, shaking, sun salutations, stretching, incense, tantra, singing, dancing and fish feeding–can we crawl back to bed now? Maybe that’s the secret to her perpetual optimism. Check out the "Cosmic Collisions" episode mentioned above, The Presumption of Adulthood, and tell Heidi what you think of her day.
