Science fiction buffs can get their share of spy-type thrills in Christopher Nolan’s latest genre-bending flick. Inception stars big names Leonardo DiCaprio and Marion Cotillard, but the main attraction lies in the suspense it builds in a dream world.

Dom Cobb (DiCaprio) is an “extractor,” a professional psychological thief who enters the mental realm of others while they're dreaming and steals their secrets. Cobb’s a troubled soul with a scarred past and plenty of his own dark places. While he works to redeem himself, he is blackmailed by businessman Saito (Ken Watanabe) to plant an idea into a rival’s head, an “impossible” process known as inception. He pulls together a dream team of inceptors to pull off this one last job but, of course, psychological mayhem ensues.

We won't give away too much more, but the film successfully layers on the suspense by dropping its characters deeper and deeper into their twisted world of dreams. You’ll have fun testing your own mental dexterity while you watch Dom and his crew use theirs to work themselves around a Matrix-like reality. The story takes enough twists and turns to satisfy sci-fi aficionados and espionage thrill-seekers alike, while simultaneously exploring the complexities of human psychology.

I have a copy of this film but am yet to watch it. Is it worth all of the hype?
