After a banner year, Goga doesn’t need any extra coverage, but just like with some of the items from chef Brad Turley’s new menu, we can’t help ourselves. The San Francisco native has created a new menu of smaller bites to launch Hai by Goga, the seventh-floor dining lounge that’s been promised since the spring, and all its offerings are killer. But the star of the show is the sliders (RMB120), miniature versions of chef Turley’s vaunted off-menu burgers.

The juicy creations are stuffed with a fat patty, topped with blue cheese and shallot jam and finished with wasabi aioli for the Pacific Rim twist that’s long been Goga’s trademark. It’s a mouthful of flavor you’ll be drooling for as soon as the first wafts of it hits your nose. If that’s not enough, the mini-burgers come sided with a helping of the best fries in town. The pile of diet-busters is made from fresh-cut potatoes, deep-fried and then—as if out of one of our most gluttonous foodie dreams—tossed in duck fat, Parmesan and arugula and sided with a creamy white truffle mayonnaise. So, yeah, Goga’s been great this year. but Turley’s just raised the bar even higher with Hai.
