Taking up residence in Mao’s old location, Hollywood Shanghai has made a few renovations to the former after-hours hangout. They’ve moved the DJ table to make it the central focus of the nightclub, with resident DJ Jobo oscillating between hip-hop, house and pop to serve the dance floor surrounding and VIP tables upstairs. With RMB70 cocktails, Hollywood attempts to attract a movie star-crowd but also manages to make every guest feel like a star. The bar stays open until the wee hours of the morning, promising to continue serving the party animals who like to stumble in late.

I'd say say compared to room, shivas etc, Hollywood is a kind of "main stream after", refreshing in a way, especially considering what Mao became in the end...the free entrance is nice, considering how after clubbing can be hit or miss.. But the music is very irritative...very. I still remember having heard "i like to move it" not even remixed... Shanghai!
